Ragi Rava Upma Serves- 2-3

Ingredients-

½ cup ragi

½ cup rava

1 ½ tsp Chana dal

1 ½ tsp urad dal

1 onion, chopped

2 ½ cups hot water

2 tbsp ghee

2 green chillies, chopped

1 tsp ginger, chopped

7-8 curry leaves

¼ tsp hing

½ tsp mustard seeds

½ tsp cumin seeds

2 tbsp roasted peanuts

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves, for garnish

Lemon juice, for garnish

Method-

Wash the Ragi and soak for 30 minutes.

Remove from water and squeeze extra water. Keep aside.

Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, let it crackle.

Next add both the dals (chana dal, urad dal) and roasted peanuts, fry till golden in colour.

Add curry leaves, hing, green chillies, ginger, onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Add the rava, soaked ragi, salt and cook for 4-5 minutes, till it is roasted well.

Mix to a simmer and slowly pour hot water. Cover and cook till all the water is absorbed.

Once all the water is absorbed remove from heat.

Serve hot with garnish of lemon juice and coriander leaves.
