Ingredients:
• 1 cup barik Rava / Sooji
• 1tsp Ghee
• 1 tbsp Oil
• Peanuts (Non roasted)
• Mustard seeds
• Cumin seeds
• Asafoetida
• 1 big Finely chopped Onion
• 1~2 Green chillies
• 5~6 Curry leaves
• 1 1/2 cup Water
• Salt to taste,
• Sugar
• Finely chopped Coriander leaves
Method:
• Heat a pan. Add rava, ghee. Mix well. You can add oil instead of ghee too.
• Roast the rava for about 7-8 minutes. Do not roast until rava turns pink. Roast it on low heat.
• Do not roast the rava in non-stick pan as pan may get scratches due to course nature of rava.
• Remove the pan from the stove.
• Heat a pan on medium heat. Add oil.
• Add peanuts and fry them until they turn reddish. Remove the peanuts in a bowl.
• Add mustard seeds and let it sizzle up. Add cumin seeds and let them pop up.
• Add asafoetida, onion. Mix well and add green chillies, curry leaves.
• Mix well and cook for 5-6 minutes. Cook until the onion turns soft.
• Add roasted rava and mix well. Add hot water, salt and sugar. Mix well and lower the heat.
• You can change the quantity of water according to your taste.
• Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes on medium heat. Remove the lid and mix well.
• Add coriander leaves and mix well. Upit is already to serve.
• While serving, add peanut, fresh grated coconut and coriander.
