FOR THE DOUGH
: 7 1/2 cups of flour (some extra for rolling out)
2 tsps of salt
1 1/2 tablespoons baking powder
1 1/2 - 2 cups of water (enough to make a soft dough)
FOR THE DHAL/SPLIT PEAS:
2 lbs of split peas
2 teaspoons of salt
2 teaspoons of turmeric powder
5-8 cloves of garlic + 1 hot pepper to grind together with the dhal/split peas
2 teaspoons of salt (to taste)
2 teaspoons roasted ground geera Some oil for cooking it on the tawa/ griddle. This recipe yields
14-15 Dhalpuris (dependent on the size).
