Ingredients for the pakoras
mustard oil as needed
6 tbsp besan/chickpea flour
1 onion, sliced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/2 tsp hara dhania/cilantro, chopped
for the kadhi
1 tbsp mustard oil
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tbsp coriander seeds
500 grams dahi/yogurt, whisked to make lump-free & smooth
4 tbsp besan/chickpea flour
1.25 tsp salt
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1.5 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
600 ml water
for the rice
1 tbsp oil
1 cup rice, soaked for 15 minutes & the water drained out 2 cups water
1 tsp salt
