1. wash green peas well and soak in water for 8 hours
2. here 2 cups of green peas is taken
3. drain the peas and transfer to a pressure cooker
4. add salt as required
5. pour water to the level of green peas
6. close with lid, place weight and cook until 2 whistles
to prepare masala:
1. heat 3 tbsp oil in a hot pan
2. add 2 sliced onions and saute
3. add 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste when the raw aroma changes
4. after mixing well, add 1 tsp cumin seed
5. ½ tsp turmeric powder
7. 1 tsp garam masala
8. ¼ tsp coriander powder
9. ½ tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
10. mix well
11. when the raw aroma changes, add 1 big tomato chopped
12. add salt as required
13. masala is now ready
14. turn off the flame and allow it to cool
15. after cooling well, transfer to blender jar
16. add 2 tbsp water and blend well to paste
17. transfer the blend paste to the same pan
18. place the pan on flame
19. wash down the jar with ¼ cup water and pour into the pan
20. check and adjust salt if necessar
y 21. green peas has cooked well
22. remove any loose skin that has come off the peas
23. when the gravy has boiled, add the peas 24. add and mix well 25. stir continuously for 2-3 minutes, after adding green peas 26. stir well and then turn off the flame
for garnishing:
1. heat 1 tbsp oil in a small pan
2. splutter 1 tsp mustard seeds
3. ¼ tsp cumin seed
4. turn off the flame and add some curry leaves
5. pour this over the prepared curry
