Ingredients:
Milk
Chocolate Chips
Cardamom Powder
Sugar (according to taste and chocolate sweetness)
Instructions:
1. I am using sweetened dark chocolate chips to make hot chocolate but if you don’t have these you can also use plain milk chocolate like Cadbury from market. If you are using Cadbury milk chocolate just make sure to chop it into smaller chunks before using in recipe.
2. Now take a pan on low heat and add ½ cup chocolate chips. Let all chocolate chips melt on low heat, just remember to keep stirring them till they melt completely.
3. After 2-3 mins when chocolate chips have melted completely, add 2 cups of milk, 2 tbsp sugar but be careful to adjust sugar according to the sweetness of your chocolate and then add ½ tsp cardamom powder for nice flavor. Now mix all ingredients well on low heat. In case you like hot chocolate to be more richer and creamy in taste you can also add 2-3 tbsp of heavy cream or half n half milk.
4. Now put heat to low medium and let it simmer, just remember we don’t want hot chocolate to get a hard boil like we usually do while making tea.
5. Meanwhile, keep stirring hot chocolate in between so that chocolate blends well with milk as it becomes hot. In total I have simmered it for at least 5-6 mins to get a perfect texture like this.
6. After approx. 6 mins when hot chocolate looks like this switch of the gas and now its ready to be poured in the mug.
7. For garnishing and beautiful look add some whipping cream on top but its optional. Now drizzle some chocolate syrup on top of whip cream to give it a café style look.
8. Now our hot chocolate is ready to serve, so enjoy!
