Ingredients
½ cup coriander seeds
18 red chillies
1½ tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tbsp peppercorn
2 tbsp split black gram
10 curry leaves
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp split Bengal gram
2 tbsp pigeon peas
½ tbsp. mustard seeds
½ tbsp asafoetida
Method
-Roast the coriander seeds.
-Roast dry red chillies for two minutes
-Roast fenugreek seeds for a minute or two
-Roast pepper corns for a minute or two -Roast split black gram
-Roast curry leaves till they are nice and crisp
-Roast the bengal gram for two minutes
-Roast the pigeon peas for two minutes
-Add mustard seeds and let them pop
-Place all the ingredients into a bowl and let them cool
-Add turmeric powder and asafoetida and mix well
-Grind everything to a fine powder
-Sambhar Powder is ready for use
