METHOD
1.In a pan heat oil - 1 tablespoon
2.To it add diced onions - 1 big sized and fry till they turn brown in colour
3.Add ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon saute till raw smell disappears
4.Then add diced green chilies - 3 and saute
5.Then reduce flame and add Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon Salt - as required Saute them by adding a little water
6.Then add tomatoes - 1 big sized chopped and cook till it becomes smooth
7.Add red lenthils - 100gram that was washed and soaked in water for 15 minutes
8.Add water - 2 cups
9.Add few coriander leaves and mix 10.Cook dal under high flame for 2 minutes then lower the flame and cook for 10 minutes or till it is done
11.Now for tempering we need Clarified butter - 1 tablespoon to it add Thinly sliced onion - 1/2 Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon Few curry leaves Kashmiri red chili powder - 1/4 teaspoon Add this to the dal
12. Dal is ready serve it hot with roti or rice
