Ingredients:
3 Large ripe tomatoes
Few stems coriander leaves
Few stems of curry leaves
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp black peppercorns
3 big cloves of garlic
2 tsp oil
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1 red chilli
salt to taste.
Method:
Chop tomatoes into big chunks, finely chop coriander leaves. Roughly crush cumin, peppercorns, garlic and curry leaves. Grind tomatoes into a fine paste. Heat the tomato paste, add the crushed masala, add salt. Bring this to a boil, add cilantro. For Seasoning : Heat 2tsp oil, when oil is heated add mustard, curry leaves and red chilli. Add this seasoning to the tomato rasam. Enjoy the rasam with rice or you can drink it as soup.
