Instant Pot Indian Recipe Makhani Dal | Dal Makhani Restaurant Style | Dal Makhani | दाल मखनी

Ingredients

Cooking Dal - 1 cup of black gram - Rajma ( red kidney beans/ Red beans ) -

Salt - to taste

Tadka - 1 tbsp

ghee - 1 tbsp

butter - 1/8 tsp

Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp

Cumin

- 1 chopped onions

- 1 tsp grated ginger

- 1 tsp grated garlic

- 2 chopped tomatoes

- 2 tsp red chilli powder

- coriander leaves

- water

- 1 tsp coriander powder

- 1/2 tsp turmeric

- 1/2 tsp garam masala

- 2 tbsp Fresh Cream

Method

- Soak black gram and red kidney beans for 6 hours.

- Switch ON the IP on the saute mode, add ghee & butter. Add asafoetida and cumin. Fry till the cumin slightly changes color.

 

- Add grated ginger & garlic paste. Sa

ute till the raw smell vanishes. - And onions and cook it until the onions turn brown - Add chopped tomatoes puree and cook till they are soft and mushy. - Add coriander powder, turmeric, salt, red chili powder. Mix well and cook till the oil separates. - Add the soaked dal and water. Switch off the saute mode. Turn ON the IP and select the Bean & Chili mode. Cook for 40 minutes. - After the beep, allow the pressure to release naturally. Open the lid. Switch on the saute mode. - Check if the dal is cooked and soft. Add coriander leaves, Garam masala and fresh cream.
